Some Long Overdue Updates

The last few months have been crazy - to say the least. I went to Utah (twice), Jackson hole, and Colorado (twice) in the last 6 weeks and started back in school. But I suppose the biggest news is that Joe & I got engaged! We couldn't be more excited about the upcoming adventures.   Between all the travels and starting school we've barely had time to plan a wedding, let alone update the blog. But anywho here's a quick overview of the last 2 months:

Utah Trip #1

I went to Utah to work at Brighton for 3 weeks of my Christmas break. I got to see lots of friends and slay tons of POW! I was home for Liza's annual Christmas Party which is always one of the highlights of Christmas break. It's one of the few times of the year we're all in the same place.

Denver Trip #1

I went home for Christmas this year for the first time in a few years. I missed Joe & Sam a lot, but loved being with my sweet little nieces. Emma, Sophie, & Claire sure do make the holidays fun!

Utah Trip #2

I was home in Missoula for less than a week when the opportunity came for me to go with Joe back to Utah to work the Burton Super Demo Tour in Park City. So, back to Utah we went. Little did I know he was planning on proposing while we were there.  We went down 2 days early to do some riding at Brighton and hang with friends.

*The Proposal*

We were lucky to get a powder day the first day we were there. We rode with friends and slayed powder. One chairlift ride up Great Western Joe and I were just chatting and then what do you know?! There was a ring and he was asking me to marry him. I cried, fogged my goggles, then slayed some pow. I couldn't have asked for a better proposal.  I called a few friends/family to share the good news and we spent the rest of the day taking runs and being ridiculously excited!

A bunch of our friends knew (before me) and we all went out to dinner that night to celebrate. It was so great to have some of our closest friends with us to celebrate!

*Park City*
We went riding again the next day before heading up to Park City for the night. We met some awesome people, turned a lot of screws, and did a little snowboarding too.
The only downside of Park City is that we had to drive back to Missoula after taking down all the tents. We rolled into town around 4am Monday morning, which also happened to be the first day of school. It was brutal but totally worth it!

Denver Trip #2

Jake flew Danielle and I down to Denver for the annual snowsports trade show, SIA to do some women's buying. I was home from Utah for less than 72 hours before I had to turn around and leave again. It was beyond worth it! We had an amazing (and filling) sushi dinner courtesy of Vans the first night, saw some killer gear, ate a phenomenal Thai dinner courtesy of Jake, and went to the on-snow demo in Winter Park. In between all of that I got to see my family and do a little wedding dress shopping!

Jackson Hole

Joe & I got invited to do another Burton Super Demo Tour stop in Jackson Hole. After being gone so much my first thought was NO! I'm not going anywhere! But then I thought about it... and made the smart decision to go. Jackson was BEAUTIFUL! Our good friend Steve Hogan from North Carolina got to come with us too. It was 30 degrees and sunny the whole time we were there.
We saw a wolf, a few moose, and visited the legendary million dollar cowboy bar! Joe's convinced we're going to move there. It was gorgeous & we couldn't have asked for a more fun demo stop.

It's been a crazy last few months & things look like they won't be slowing down anytime soon! Hope all is well for our friends and family in your corners of the world.

Love,
Jess, Joe & Sam
